Paymark signs Sybase and Yellowfin

New Zealand payment transaction company Paymark has implemented a new transactional data and reporting solution jointly deployed by Australian business intelligence (BI) provider Yellowfin and global enterprise software company Sybase.


The Paymark deployment is the first under a new sales alliance between Sybase and Yellowfin under which the two companies have agreed to co-sell Sybase’s column-based database, Sybase IQ, with Yellowfin’s front-end BI presentation layer and interface.

Paymark offers services to merchants, card issuers and acquirers for eftpos, eCommerce, mCommerce and ATM payment and related transaction processing.

The Yellowfin/Sybase solution means Paymark’s transactional data and reports are now loaded and produced in real-time for the company’s executive team.

Steve Dolan, Sybase’s director of channels and alliances in Australia and New Zealand, said the alliance between his company and Bluefin, which enabled the Paymark deployment, was highly strategic for both Sybase and Yellowfin.

“Using Yellowfin’s presentation layer as the front end of Sybase IQ provides organisations with an all-encompassing business intelligence solution to very quickly find and analyse valuable corporate information,” Dolan said.

“In today’s rapidly changing business environments, information and performance management is an important competitive differentiator.”

Yellowfin’s chief executive, Glen Rabie, said his company had specifically focused on tailoring its solution for Sybase IQ in order to link a fast analytics server to a BI solution that makes mass data deployment easy and cost-effective.

“Sybase retains the relationship with its corporate client base who now benefit from a more user friendly front-end interface whilst Yellowfin gains a much larger potential revenue pipeline with such a significant partner,” Rabie said.
