Cellect Connects it's Supply Chain with Lawson

Lawson, a leading provider of Enterprise Applications, has announced that Cellect New Zealand has selected Lawson's Enterprise Application, Movex to expand their e-business capabilities and create a more efficient international supply chain management process.

Cellect one of New Zealand’s largest distributor of mobile phones and accessories, awarded the 164 named user project to Lawson as it offered a unique fully integrated Enterprise Application system written entirely in Java.

The deal involves Lawson's Movex Distribution solution, Implex implementation methodology, and Devex,  Lawson’s ongoing services offering.  The Movex solution will be run on an IBM AS/400 Platform with IBM Websphere and Lotus Domino technology.

"After reviewing numerous systems, Lawson was the only company that could offer a fully integrated Enterprise Application system built on Java", said Paul Aldiss, IT Manager, Cellnet Telecommunications.  "Movex was also chosen because of its broad functionality, which included our need to fully integrate manufacturing, distribution and financial information."

"Movex will give us more efficiencies in the way we operate our business processes, and especially the expansion of our e-business capability.  We have built our website so that it will bolt directly into Movex," said Mr Aldiss.

"From an e-business perspective, this means that we can provide a very rich set of tools to our customers and allow them to datamine, for example, to go into the website and review their individual orders.  This enables Cellect to offer considerable added value and directly meet the needs of our customers."

"Internally, there will also be several benefits generated from using Movex. We will be able to decrease processing times and errors," Mr Aldiss said.
