Coin Cascade operates the TimeOut and TimeZone network of family entertainment centres and is New Zealand's leading operator in this field. With many different sites throughout New Zealand and many different games types, Coin Cascade needed to understand its business performance in real time by any combination of site and game, right down to an individual game’s performance. Previously, reporting at this level involved a complex set of spreadsheet calculations and required the manual manipulation of data from several systems. To solve these issues Microsoft implementation partner Intergen harnessed the considerable advantages of Microsoft Dynamics NAV Standard Edition with SQL Server as a proven Financial Management Information System (FMIS) with in-built analytical capabilities. The result is the ability to analyse business performance in real-time. Microsoft Dynamics NAV on SQL Server brought all the information together so that Coin Cascade could understand the entire business performance for all sites thoughout New Zealand, and provided the ability to drill down further as required. “We were familiar with an older version of Navision and wanted a system that provided a strong reporting capability,” says Nigel Wooding at Coin Cascade. “Any new system had to be very good value and Microsoft Dynamics NAV Standard Edition over SQL Server provided all the power of the full Dynamics NAV system at a very affordable price. We worked with Intergen to deliver the project under budget.” Intergen’s Richard Malloch says the Standard Edition of Microsoft Dynamics NAV offers the power of the Professional Edition at a great price for smaller companies. The result is a fully featured FMIS system that is now within the budget of smaller companies. Malloch says the Rapid Implementation Methodology used ensured the project was delivered without additional customisation and shows the value of a standardised FMIS implementation.
