Press Release: Auckland, November 26, 2001. The implementation project covers the configuration, installation, testing and enterprise wide roll out of the i2 solution and is to be carried out by a consultant team from the Business Innovation Services arm of IBM’s Global Services. TVNZ Strategic Procurement Manager, Andrea Gregory says IBM has been involved in the project almost from the beginning. “IBM assisted TVNZ with the initial business case for this project and accompanying identification of areas where savings could be made. IBM consultants developed the application selection process which ensured the products assessed could deliver the requisite functionality required and will see the project through to its go live in April,” said Mrs Gregory. Ken Tunnicliffe, General Manager, IBM Global Services, New Zealand says the deal illustrates the diverse range of skills within IBM. “IBM were able to demonstrate a significant value proposition in that the company can not only supply hardware and support services but also a top level consulting team, able to understand and implement complex solutions to manage and assist with projects of this nature.” The project is due for completion in April 2002 and TVNZ hopes to achieve substantial savings through the ability to manage procurement across the enterprise.
