Contegro redefines website content management

In 2003 Contegro founder and managing director Vaughan Reed set out to develop a content management system (CMS) that would break the mould by overcoming the limitations and current inflexibilities he saw in other products on the market.

Reed secured a Technology New Zealand research and development grant to create a “new generation” website CMS tool. His vision was to set a new standard in website CMS by employing the latest technology to deliver a feature-rich solution in an easy-to-use package.

Reed says the resulting product is an intelligent solution providing organisations with an unparalleled level of flexibility, functionality and control over their website content management. Contegro is an ideal solution for businesses that are “web-aware” and looking to develop a long term online strategy. This includes companies that already have a CMS product but are finding it limited in terms of flexibility or functionality, or simply too difficult to use.

Contegro has so far been adopted by around 20 organisations including well-known brands Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Avis and SUBWAY.

SUBWAY has adopted Contegro as an intranet solution accessible to its network of franchisees, making important sales and marketing information available on demand and effectively increasing communication throughout the organisation.

Contegro is being delivered via an accredited partner programme that is focused on building long-term partnerships with leading website design companies to deliver Contegro to the end user.

“This enables our partners to focus on what they do best - design, implementation, project management and pre- and post-website support services - while we continue to focus on delivering the very best in website CMS," says Reed.

"This combination represents exceptional value for money for customers requiring a complete website solution,” he says.

Auckland web design company Exceed Online, Contegro‘s first website design partner, recently completed a high profile Contegro project with rental car company Avis NZ which has utilised the platform to "revolutionise" its online strategy.

The combination of Exceed's expertise in web consultancy and Contegro's power as a content management solution has surpassed Avis’s expectations, giving the company a more proactive presence in the internet space.

Reed's long term strategy is to deliver Contegro to overseas markets once the brand is firmly established in New Zealand. To achieve this Contegro has been developing relationships with key export bodies and has been accepted in to WHK Gosling Chapman’s High Impact Programme. This programme utilises Massey University’s internationally recognised Benchmarking Programme which aims to accelerate growth amongst small to medium businesses.
