The Web Developers Association of New Zealand (WDANZ) is a pro-active organisation working to provide highly valuable, practical training, support, networking and business opportunities to the web development industry. Labyrinth Solutions was approached by WDANZ to upgrade the association’s site to reflect the changes that had occurred in the organisation since its inception in 2006. In designing the new site, the Labyrinth design team utilised the Contegro content management system (CMS) to create a structured environment for the varied content that the site hosts with definitive pathways for industry and public visitors, enabling a coherent message to be communicated throughout the site. The redevelopment has resulted in significant improvements to WDANZ’s online presence. “Since our inception WDANZ has been approached by many providers of CMS, both proprietary and open source, with the view to promoting their systems and products,” says WDANZ CEO Dennis Smith. “Many WDANZ members have their own CMS (content management solution) and several have offered to redevelop the WDANZ website to showcase their design talent and CMS solutions,” Smith says. “Any relationship that we build with a CMS provider will always draw the attention of the web development industry, therefore WDANZ needed to have confidence that the chosen product and provider was sound. They would also have to meet the high standards expected of us, both in the design and the underlying technology. Our design and functional requirements have been met in all regards by Contegro with a powerful, modern and flexible enterprise CMS. WDANZ is very pleased to use and recommend Contegro.” The design of the site called on Contegro’s ability to create dynamic content to highlight the latest events and news from WDANZ and its members, as well as providing RSS feeds to engage site visitors. “WDANZ has set an industry standard by choosing Contegro as their CMS solution of choice and this decision is reflective of Contegro’s position as the leading NZ CMS available in today’s market,” says Vaughan Reed, managing director of Contegro. “We have been delighted to see the transformation that has taken place since the site was migrated to Contegro and are proud to be supporting WDANZ as their chosen CMS provider,” says Reed. “The design team at Labyrinth clearly understood our design brief and implemented a very effective website upgrade - turning our existing brochure-style website into a modern site consistent with our corporate branding,” says Smith. Labyrinth Solutions and Contegro are looking forward to seeing WDANZ leverage the Contegro platform to deliver value-adding services to both the retail and industry markets. Reed says for associations like WDANZ, Contegro is an intelligent investment and comes without the expensive outlay demanded by comparable products. Contegro has no hidden or ongoing costs and, unlike other products, does not tie clients into expensive hosting or maintenance contracts. For more information |
