Springdoo video makes email personal

Internet company Springdoo has launched what web commentators say is the ‘next big thing’ for people who use the internet to stay in touch. Anyone can visit the Springdoo website and record a video email using a web camera, or an audio email using a standard computer microphone. Just like the basic services provided by Skype and Hotmail, Springdoo video email is simple to use and provided for free...

”Springdoo aims to show people how easily they can evolve beyond email and texting, to a fresh, personal and ‘human’ way to engage with one another” says Jason Kerr (pictured), CEO of Springdoo. “The way we connect in the future needs to bring back the key communication elements of emotion and substance; elements that are lacking in our current choices”.

He says that a large majority of people at some time experience a level of annoyance over how cold and impersonal we have become with our use of current technologies.

Owning a web camera will soon become the norm, with units readily available for purchase online (even via the Springdoo website), at substantially cheaper prices than communication devices such as mobile phone handsets.

Springdoo plans to grow its business into a multi-million user service that 98 percent of its users enjoy for free. The company is actively pursuing opportunities with global marketing and media companies and continues to develop exciting product extensions.

The tens of millions of people throughout the world who send electronic greetings each year need no longer be accused of being cheap, unromantic and tacky, thanks to Springdoo that allows any internet user to very easily record and send a sincere message by video email.
Each holiday season, or on occasions such as Valentine’s Day, Halloween, and birthdays, up to 500,000 people per hour make a last-minute dash to the internet to find an e-card to rescue them from being branded ‘forgetful’. But the e-card is showing signs of consumer fatigue, with insulted recipients declaring that those who send e-cards lack affection and sincerity, or are ‘just too cheap to buy a card’.

Springdoo CEO Jason Kerr says that “what it comes down to is the fact that people still desire good old fashioned thoughtful human contact, and like a handwritten letter, video delivers the ‘personal effort’ element that a flashy animated cartoon can never do”.

Springdoo is designed to provide a more personal and human way for people to communicate over the internet. Industry commentators all say that video is the ‘next big thing’ for internet users, and is a technology that has numerous applications for delivering messages with emotion – from special occasions through to selling products and services.

Owning a web camera is no longer seen to be a barrier, with inexpensive and easy to use units readily available for purchase online (even via the Springdoo website), for about the same price as a mouse.

By sending a Springdoo video email, Kerr says you will be forgiven for being cheap and admired for being so clever.
